Biking in Lycia
2 Week Self-Guided Bike Tour of Lycia
This itinerary includes 9 days of biking covering
between 25 and 50 km per day in varied
landscapes. Often you will cycle on small country
roads and sometimes on the beautiful coastal road
at the edge of the glistening Mediterranean Sea and
its scattering of small islands. The route takes you
to the never ending beach of Iztuzu, where you will
find a turtle conservation project. You will also visit
the stunning gorge at Saklikent, teh rock tombs and
theatre at Myra and the Eternal Flames of Chimera
(mentioned in Homer’s Ilyad).
There are 4 days of free time where you can either
relax or choose to try some other activities such as
a boat tour over the Sunken City of Kekova, or
looking for turtle as you cruise on the delta of the
River Dalyan both trips have a great lunch on board.
There is also canoeing on the river Xanthos which is
very much like a scene from “The African Queen”,
horse riding on the dunes of Patara, or paragliding
like an eagle soaring over the turquoise bay of
Ölüdeniz.
